FAQ

You’ve got questions, we’ve got answers

  • Our ceremony is taking place the West/Wright family cottage ( 1092-22 Scarcliffe Rd, Port Carling, ON P0B 1J0) and the reception is being held at Windermere House . Full details on the day including transportation can be found on our “Event Details” page . We can’t wait for you to Meet Us In Muskoka this July 26, 2025!

  • Please arrive between 2-3pm to allow ample time to find your friends, family, a drink and a seat before the ceremony begins promptly at 3pm.

  • We recommend guests either arrange a ride to drop you off or jump on the shuttle bus we have arranged to take guests from Windermere House to the cottage. The shuttle departs for the ceremony at 2pm.

There is no overnight parking at the cottage so we encourage all guests to use the provided transportation or arrange their own drop off.

  • The short answer is yes, we have you covered! We will be transporting guests from the cottage to Windermere House via a cruise of Lake Muskoka where food, beverage and a good time will be provided.

  • You will be able to make your dinner selection and request accommodation for allergies or dietary restriction via your Paperless Post Invitation.

  • With the exception of close family, we have chosen to make our wedding celebration adults-only. We hope this advance notice means you are still able to join us!

  • To ensure we can accommodate all guests comfortably within the venue’s capacity, we ask that only invited guests attend our wedding events. You’ll find the details about your party size, including whether it includes a +1, on your invitation.

  • We understand planning so far in advance has its challenges but kindly ask that you send us your RSVP’s no later than May 1, 2025. That being said if you know you can’t meet this deadline for any reason please send us a note at west.yardley2025@gmail.com

  • The dress code for our wedding is “Black Tie Optional”. We want everyone to look and feel their best so have fun with it! To be more specific: we ask that men wear either a tuxedo or a dark suit. For women we ask that you wear floor-length or tea-length dresses. We also encourage you to embrace the summer season with colours and prints.

Please note that weather pending, we plan to embrace the best of what Muskoka has to offer which includes a combination of indoor and outdoor settings and a boat ride so please select footwear and attire you feel best in.

  • This is our favourite question! So much so that we dedicated a whole page on this website to it. Please see our “Explore” page for our personal list of the best things to see, do and eat in Muskoka!

  • We highly recommend that our guests stay at Windermere House for the ease and convenience it offers (it’s where we have our room block and shuttle to the wedding!) . To book, please call (705-769-3611 ) and tell them you are booking under the “West/Yardley Wedding Block”.

For those wishing to stay elsewhere we have additional options listed on our “Stay” page. Please note that Muskoka accommodations tend to fill up quickly so if you are booking outside our block, we recommend sorting your accommodation sooner rather than later.

  • Rest assured, we do have rain plans in place and will send out communication with any detail changes or instructions no later than 24 hours before the big day. Rain or shine we’ll be getting married in Muskoka!

  • If you have further questions, please reach out to us via email at west.yardley2025@gmail.com and we’ll do our best to help you. We kindly ask that all planning questions come in before July so that we can use the last few weeks before the wedding to finalize details and soak up as much of the experience as possible before the big day!
